I am a physical therapist assistant and National Board Certified Health and Wellness
Coach. The style of therapy I offer focuses on myofascial release and is patient-
centered. I understand that we all lead our own lives, in our own pace and style. I don’t
believe there is a standard formula that a person fits into for physical therapy; rather I
believe that each ‘body’ has its own wisdom in which often needs the right time and
place for connection for healing, growth and transformation to occur. I believe in
embodying an environment for a mindfully engaged, but honest, compassionate
partnership between therapist and patient. I have experienced that engaging and
allowing for room for a person to explore their mind body connection is essential for
whole body integration within this therapy style. Within coaching, I specialize in chronic pain management and lifestyle behavior change.

On a physical level, I work with embodied touch, use trigger point release as well as
techniques such as guided and passive stretching, identifying holding patterns,
massage, lymphatic and circulatory aid and flow and breathing dynamic instruction. I
assist a patient in learning how to build strength in ways that fit their lifestyle at their
pace and fine tune subtle movement patterns that have been causing pain or ailments
within their lives. I feel connected to this work because I believe in growth, in change, in transformation experiences, and I enjoy watching people feel better.

In my formative years prior to college, I had the opportunity to participate in a two-
year intensive athletic health care/fitness program directed by Athletic Trainers whom
worked for professional sports teams. I was an athlete, realized I had a strong interest in
learning about the body in its entirety and was intrigued by injuries and healing. I have
had many powerful volunteer opportunities, such as a being a participant in a cadaver
lab at the Cleveland Clinic as a teenager, that have led me to understand the spatial
connection between the anatomic body and how we as humans, move, through life’s
stages.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art from Kent State University, Ohio as well as
completed studies in the Movement Sciences and Athletic Training. I completed my
physical therapy license at South College in Asheville.

I grew up in New England and love all things seasonal. I am a mother of a four-year old
and a toddler. I am married to a professional musician. Our family has fun meeting new
families, seeing live music, being outdoors rain or shine and have a deep appreciation
for the arts.
